Yesterday I hired a car and drove 200 kilometres along an ice road to Tuktoyaktuk, on the shore of the Arctic Ocean. The road was incredible - it goes along the Mackenzie River until, just at the end, it cuts across the frozen sea itself. Everything was white and incredibly beautiful. It was about as different to my normal driving experiences in London as it is possible to be.
